Surprise! 'Outlast' is Out on Nintendo Switch
Publisher Red Barrels announced last year it was bringing its super scary games Outlast and Outlast 2 to Nintendo Switch. It shared a picture of one of the ports in December and said both games would launch in the first quarter of 2018. It never announced a specific release date. Instead, it surprised everyone with a stealth release (pretty fitting for a game about jump scares).
Outlast: Bundle of Terror is now on the eShop for $25, while Outlast 2 is available for pre-order. It comes out March 27th. Bundle of Terror includes the first game and its downloadable content. Red Barrels says on Twitter it runs at 720p/30 FPS in handheld mode and 1008p/30 FPS while docked. Apparently, that 1008p isn't a typo. It also says there are no plans for a physical release.
