Richard Garriott is Offering a Discount on His $45M Home … If You Pay in Bitcoin
Richard Garriott, the pioneering game developer who helped create the Ultima series, owns a $45 million property on Lake Austin in Texas. It has a haunted forest and a Shakespearean theater. And if you're willing to pay for it in bitcoin, he'll give you a "significant discount," according to the Austin Business Journal.
“He kind of lives in a crypto world. He develops incredible video games and creates a fantasy world. He is super creative in that regard, so it would make a lot of sense that he would love the idea of bitcoin,” real estate agent Gary Dolch told the Austin Business Journal.
Garriott put the ranch up for sale last April. It's reportedly the most expensive property ever placed on Austin's multiple listing service.
