The Westboro Baptist Church brought their hate-mongering placards to Cleveland for the Republican National Convention, but in a bizarre twist, the members of the Kansas church were met by an anti-Westboro protest led by Triumph the Insult Comic Dog (and his handler, comedian Robert Smigel).
Using the Westboro group's trademark "God Hates" motif, Triumph and his large band of protestors lashed out at a variety of things, from Kevin Spacey and Kevin Hart to morning people and bad wi-fi, the AV Club reports. "God hates the Lakers' offseason moves," the anti-Westboro protestors chanted. "You have insulted God by signing Timofey Mozgov to a four-year deal!"
Other chants included "God hates seahorses," "God hates mermen" and "God hates people born from C-sections." At one point, Smigel started taking "God Hates" requests from the crowd. When one woman recommended "God hates the military industrial complex," Smigel rebuffed, "Too complicated. Sorry, these are protests for morons."
