Watch Will Ferrell and ‘Anchorman’ Team React to Chicago Cubs World Series

At last, the World Series got the Anchorman treatment it deserved.
Just before the Chicago Cubs ended a 108-year championship drought with a Game 7 victory against the Cleveland Indians in the World Series, you may remember that the cameras caught Anthony Rizzo telling David Ross in the dugout that he was “in a glass case of emotions.” The quote – as many were quick to point out at the time – was ripped directly from Ron Burgundy in Anchorman, which only made Rizzo more lovable to all the title-deprived folks in Chicago.
Perhaps in honor of that, Funny or Die has mashed up the memorable moments from the World Series with equally memorable scenes from Will Ferrell’s hit comedy. And somehow, from Champ Kind celebrating home runs with his signature catchphrase “Whammy!” to Burgundy waiting impatiently for the rain delay like the rest of America, it’s a perfect marriage.

Remember, Will Ferrell, who famously played late Cubs broadcaster Harry Caray, was once traded from the Los Angeles Angels to the Cubs for a washing machine before the Arizona Diamondbacks acquired him in exchange for a churro dog and D-bat dog, so he has some strong ties to the Cubs in real life.
