It’s been over a year since Ronda Rousey lost her bantamweight title to Holly Holm at UFC 193. The world wondered what was going through the mind of one of the most dominant and famous MMA fighters in the world, and whether or not she’d be able to make a comeback. After that, she disappeared for a bit. When she resurfaced, she talked about the dark places she went to, but also how getting through that was inevitably the best thing in the world for her.
Now Rousey is back, and on Dec. 30 in Las Vegas she’ll face Amanda Nunes to try not just regain her title, but also redeem herself for the loss against Holm. The importance of the fight can’t be overstated for Rousey, especially with talk that this could be one of her last matches in the Octagon, and the epic new promo for the fight shows just that. It takes us from her home in the Hollywood Hills, sick of all the sports shows talking about her and that one loss, to a Rockey-esque training montage that shows just how hellbent on redemption the former champion is.
