Ronda Rousey’s back! And she’s already kicking ass.
This weekend, Rowdy will make history as the first UFC fighter to host Saturday Night Live. It’s also her first TV appearance since UFC 193, when Holly Holm ended her undefeated streak and stripped her of the Bantamweight title. While a rematch between the two is still up in the air, emerging from her cave is a step in the right direction.
Before she took the stage in New York, Rousey filmed several TV spots with SNL star Beck Bennett, none of which ended well for the comedian. He tried flirting with Rousey – “I feel an immediate bond with you,” he said – but that ended with her threatening to rip his arm off. He also tried winning her over with a joke, but that gave Rousey an opportunity to embarrass him some more. And when Bennett donned a singlet and broke out his “Beck ‘The Wreck’ Noggin Lock,” she threw him to the ground like all of the opponents who dared challenge her in the Octagon.

All but one, that is.
Anyway, this isn’t the first time we’ll see Rousey in a comedic role this year. She’s also teaming up with SNL alum Tina Fay for Do Nothing Bitches, a movie inspired by the phrase she coined last year. We’ll find out Saturday if she’s got what it takes to make the nation laugh…though based on the way she tossed Bennett, does anyone dare tell her she’s not funny?
