Even in retirement, Marshawn Lynch is the gift that keeps on giving.
While we’ve (probably?) seen the last of him in an NFL jersey, Beast Mode is currently enjoying everything Egypt has to offer alongside nine other NFL stars – like DeAngelo Williams and Jordan Cameron – for American Football Without Barriers, an organization that aims to globalize the game of football by bringing it to a new generation of fans. According to Seahawks.com, they’re hoping to coach over 450 kids during their trip and they also have two days dedicated to community outreach.
This is Lynch’s third year with AFWB, and while his previous two trips were not without their gems (who can forget him opening up about Super Bowl 49 for the first time while on Turkish television?) this current voyage might take the cake. After all, how often do you get to see Lynch ghost riding a camel – his words, not ours – in the Egyptian desert? And to make the whole experience more enjoyable for everyone, Lynch was also blaring music from Bay Area rapper Tay Way while his guide danced and sang along.
After all, you can take Lynch out of the Bay Area, but you can’t take the Bay Area out of Lynch. More proof that the world is a better place with Beast Mode in it – let’s hope retirement doesn’t make him a stranger.
