Watch Leo Messi Score an ‘Impossible Goal’
There isn’t much Lionel Messi hasn’t accomplished at this stage of his career. But even by his otherworldly standards, this trick shot is absurd.
Eros Ramazzotti, an Italian musician who is a big shot over on that side of the pond, stopped by FC Barcelona’s training facility earlier this week to mess around with Messi, Sergio Busquets, Andres Iniesta and their head coach, Luis Enrique. Following a short round of keepie-uppie with the group, Ramazzotti decided to put Messi’s skills to the test by challenging him to a free kick from 25-something yards away while standing behind the goal, which would require some gnarly curve to put it in the back of the net.
That would be an impossible task for just about anyone – probably the reason Barcelona is calling it “an impossible goal” – but because he’s Lionel Messi, greatest soccer player in the world, he made it look like child’s play.
Oh, and this comes several days after Messi made Celta Vigo’s goalie look foolish with a controversial penalty that had many accusing him of lack of respect. But really, when you’re that good at your job, how can you blame him for flaunting it at every opportunity he gets? Just ask Cristiano Ronaldo. He gets it.
