Kobe Bryant may be retired, but he’ll still be playing a role in the NBA finals – starring in a new ad for the championship series between the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers, and the upcoming Ghostbusters reboot.
The former Los Angeles Lakers star shared a behind-the-scenes clip of him preparing for promo via The Players’ Tribune, the online magazine Derek Jeter founded as an outlet for professional athletes (Bryant is an investor). In the clip, Bryant dons the proper ghost-busting attire, a proton pack backpack and a tan jumpsuit, which fittingly sports a name-tag emblazoned with, “Mamba.” A picture gallery is also available to peruse on The Players’ Tribune.
The full ad will debut at some point during game one of the NBA Finals, which begins tonight, May 2nd, at 9 p.m. ET on ABC. The new Ghostbusters, meanwhile, opens July 15th. It stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones and Chris Hemsworth, and was directed by Paul Feig.
