Watch Insane World Record Basketball Shot
Earlier this year, Dude Perfect set a number of Guinness World Records by pulling off some of the most ridiculous things you’ll ever see on a basketball court like nailing a hook shot from 70-feet and draining a half court shot with one’s head. Some of those have since been broken by the Harlem Globetrotters – because, of course – but the craziest one took a team traveling to Switzerland to surpass.
That record? The world’s highest basketball shot, set by Dude Perfect when he somehow made a shot standing on top of a building 533-feet above a basketball hoop. The three Australians who bested that make up the group “How Ridiculous” and they decided to turn Mauvoisin Dam in Valais – one of the 10 highest dams in the world – into their personal playground for the world record. And according to the description on YouTube, it only took them three attempts to make it happen.
“On only the THIRD attempt, Derek breaks the Guinness World Record for the highest basketball shot ever, swishing one from a massive 180.968m (593.73 feet) off the top of Mauvoisin Dam in Switzerland!”
How Ridiculous actually held the title for the highest basketball shot in 2011 when they sank a shot from 219 feet. They beat their own record twice before Dude Perfect ruined their run this year, but it’s now theirs to lose again. Unfortunately for them, though, it’s probably only a matter of time until the likes of Dude Perfect and the Harlem Globetrotters force them back to the drawing board.
