With there being less than a month before Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz meet in the Octagon for their highly anticipated rematch, the trash talk between the two is now in full swing.
On Tuesday, Diaz made the media rounds by visiting the ESPN’s and FOX Sports’ of the world, and he finished up his day with an appearance on Conan to talk about the important things in life like his beef with Justin Bieber and his 38-inch legs. While on set, Diaz also received a personal video from McGregor — who couldn’t be there due to other obligations — which featured a healthy amount of shade being thrown at Diaz’s expense.
“I’m taking this contest very, very seriously,” McGregor said. “I’ve flown in specific body types to replicate Nate’s skinny, tall frame. The boy won the lotto the last time. He knows it. I know it. Well, August 20th I’ll get my revenge and I look forward to it.”
To add to those fighting words, McGregor’s coach hosted a Q&A on Periscope a couple of days ago and said the reason McGregor lost to Diaz at UFC 196 was because he got tired. He also said McGregor is taking his preparation this time around “100 times more serious” and that he’ll take out Diaz in the fourth round.
As for Diaz, all he had to say about McGregor’s prediction is, “The truth came out [at UFC 196], and the truth will be August 20th when it goes down again.” We’ll soon find out.
