Watch an Insane Skate Session at an Empty Water Park
Once a year, the Aquaventure water park in Dubai shuts down for maintenance – bad news for anyone looking to ride the world’s largest waterslide, but a pretty sweet development for a trio of pro skateboarders.
Red Bull-sponsored skaters Milton Martinez, Alex Sorgente and Jan Hoffmann were just given an all-access pass to the park, located at Atlantis resort on Palm Island, and as soon as the slides were dry, they took full advantage. And the end results were appropriately insane.
From carving their way through massive fiberglass pipes to hitting huge tricks on open-air tubes high above the ground, these guys risked life and limb on a pair of Aquaventure’s biggest slides – Zoomerango and the awesomely named Aquaconda – because, honestly, when would they ever get another shot at skating something like this?
Shot by Edu Munoz, the video above captures all the craziness of a truly once-in-a-lifetime session. Surprisingly, aside from a couple of spills, Martinez, Sorgente and Hoffmann all survived unscathed – but they were definitely pushing the limits. Like Red Bull put it: “This is insane terrain, one night only, go big or go home.”
