The Undertaker will make his return to the WWE ring on the November 15th episode of SmackDown Live, the 900th installment of the weekly wrestling show. The announcement was made via by the Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania over Twitter, not giving much info other than the former champion will make an appearance. Exactly what he’ll be doing five days before Survivor Series, is anyone’s guess. It should be noted that this year marks 25 years since Undertaker defeated Hulk Hogan at that same pay-per-view event to capture his first championship and really kick off the dominant career he’s known for today.
Will he be returning to the ring anytime soon? That’s difficult to say. The Undertaker (whose real name is Mark Calaway), has been seen walking around on crutches, reportedly from a hip surgery he recently underwent. At 51, his body has undergone plenty of abuse in the 25 years since his first championship (and the years before that as well), so there’s plenty of reason to speculate whether or not this is one of the WWE’s greatest ever will announce that he’s winding his illustrious career down by taking the Road to Wrestlemania as his path.
Then again, this is the Undertaker we’re talking about. He could tell us he’s ready to get back on the main roster for all we know.
