If Cristiano Ronaldo knows what’s good for him, he won’t even step foot on the field next week.
That’s because Hafþór Björnsson, a.k.a. the Mountain from Game of Thrones, is prepared to get up close and personal if he does. You see, Iceland and Portugal are scheduled to face off on June 14th in the opening round of Euro 2016, and Björnsson wants nothing more than to see his native team win. So, with him being a 400-pound behemoth capable of deadlifting 900 pounds and making people’s heads explode with his bare hands, he’s going to take action if Ronaldo ruins Iceland’s chances by scoring a goal.
And by take action, we mean crush his head like a watermelon so that he never scores a goal again. Björnsson posted a video on YouTube earlier this week with that very message, and he threw in some clips of him making heavy weights look like child’s play for good measure.
“I have a message for Cristiano Ronaldo,” the Mountain said. “I know you’re playing against Iceland in the first game. If you dare to score against my teammates, I will find you and crush your head like I did with the Red Viper.”
The jabs don’t stop there. Lars Lagerback, the joint manager for Iceland’s national team, said Ronaldo is “an excellent actor” who put on a performance “from someone who could be in Hollywood” when Real Madrid beat Atletico Madrid in the Champions League last month. Or maybe Ronaldo does appreciate being called an actor. It helps him score over $25 million in endorsement deals, after all.
For all we know, Ronaldo’s laughing all the way to the bank.
