Stephen Curry Says Kanye’s Twitter Shoutout Is ‘Very Weird’
Over the past month, Kanye West’s Twitter account has been an endless source amusement for everyone not named Taylor Swift, so it’s not surprising that reigning NBA MVP Stephen Curry got a kick out of ‘Ye’s recent 140-or-less shoutout.
But he was also kind of weirded out by it, too.
On February 14, Kanye, ever humble, tweeted “I am the Jordan and Steph Curry of music, meaning I’m the best of 2 generations,” which puts the Golden State Warriors’ guard in rather rarefied air. Of course, Curry was conflicted by the whole thing – luckily, he had the NBA All-Star Weekend to think about it – because even Kanye’s compliments contain multitudes.
“I’ve seen a lot of his crazy, outlandish tweets…especially in the past month,” Curry told reporters on Thursday, “and then when I saw my name cross through his fingertips that was pretty funny and honoring at the same time, but then also very weird, putting me in the same conversation as Michael and Kanye.”
And given that it’s 2016, Kanye’s quote also inspired a meme – which Curry found much easier to comprehend than his words.

“Someone did a graphic of me…and Jordan guarding me, but Kanye’s face was on both of us,” he laughed. “So that’s like my favorite meme to date. Might have to get that one blown up and put on my wall or something.
