Ronda Rousey Would ‘Rag Doll’ Floyd Mayweather, UFC President Says

You know how Ronda Rousey ethered Floyd Mayweather at the ESPYs? That moment has been a whole year in the making.
For those of you who avoided the Internet yesterday, during Wednesday night’s ESPY preshow, Rousey was announced as the winner of the coveted (?) Best Fighter award – besting Floyd and several other brawlers. And as soon as she had her hands on the hardware, she shut Mayweather’s shit down, looking directly into the camera and wondering, “How Floyd feels being beat by a woman for once.” It was an awesome jab, and it set social media ablaze. But it turns out a lot of people missed the second part of Rousey’s smack talk:
“I’d like to see him pretend to not know who I am now.”
That was in response to Mayweather saying “I don’t know who he is” when asked about Rousey last year, and not surprisingly, it rubbed her the wrong way. So the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champ waited for the perfect moment to unleash the burn of all burns.
“I’m not the kind of chick you make snarky remarks about,” Rousey told reporters Thursday. “I waited a whole year to say something. If I didn’t win Best Fighter this year, I would’ve waited two years, or I would’ve waited three years. I would’ve waited for the exact time so that I could’ve said that.”
Not surprisingly, UFC president Dana White is doing all he can to pump up the rivalry. When asked by TMZ if he thought the sport’s brash new star, Conor McGregor, could handle Mayweather in the ring, he scoffed, “He would rag doll Floyd Mayweather…Ronda would rag doll him.”
We’re not sure what that means, but it sounds painful. Oh, and don’t expect an end to all this trash talk any time soon: Rousey’s got a fight coming up on August 1 against Bethe Correia – a fighter who’s had plenty of tasteless things to say about the champ in the past.
