Matt Barnes Compares Donald Trump to Hitler
Matt Barnes possibly dated Rihanna and probably beat up Derek Fisher – but he definitely hates Donald Trump.
The mercurial Memphis forward has never been one to hide his feelings in the past, and he’s not stopping now. Last August, he doubled-down on rumors that he was dating Rihanna (rumors the singer very publically denied), by proclaiming to be “too grown to lie.” And earlier this year, he summed up his rather epic run-in with Fisher – who was reportedly dating his estranged wife – thusly: “Violence is never the answer, but sometimes it is.” Now, Barnes is back at it again.
On Tuesday night, he took to Instagram to vent about Republican frontrunner Donald Trump. Only this time, he kept his words to a minimum, instead posting a picture of Adolf Hitler removing a Trump mask, along with the caption/sorta question: “This who you want to run the country? Fuck Outta Here. #AnybodyButTrump.”
As you can probably imagine, that elicited some rather zesty responses from Trump supporters – and even a few messages of support from presumptive Democrats. At the moment, neither Barnes’ employer, the Memphis Grizzlies, or the NBA have weighed in, meaning that unlike the Fisher fiasco, he may not have to pay a hefty fine for speaking his mind.
Now if only we could get Matt to sit down with Tom Brady. Maybe he can bring Colin Kaepernick along for support?
