Kyrie Irving Is Probably Not a Member of the Illuminati

Internet goes bonkers after Cavaliers guard debuts new tattoo, which kind of resembles a symbol used by the secret society

It doesn’t take much to convince a certain segment of the Internet that you’re a member of the Illuminati, a fact Cleveland Cavaliers’ guard Kyrie Irving is probably keenly aware of right now.

Here’s the deal: When the Cavaliers whooped the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday, Irving debuted a new tattoo on his left arm. To clear any speculation about its meaning, he was quick to post a photo of himself from that very game on Instagram, along with the caption, “Great home win. #ontothenextone #HamsaHand.”

And that was that. Just kidding; of course it wasn’t.

If you’re not acquainted with the spiritual symbol, the Hamsa is believed to offer protection from the evil eye, and promote success and harmony for whoever affiliates themselves with it – which is probably why Irving waited until after the Cavs canned David Blatt before he got it. Time will tell if his tat will be the missing piece in Cleveland’s quest to beat the Golden State Warriors, but in the mean time he should have a lot of fun denying his attachment to the Illuminati.

Because, boy are people on Irving’s Instagram account convinced that he’s sold his soul to the secret society that runs the world (wake up, sheeple!) since the tattoo sort of looks like the “Eye of Providence” often associated with the Illuminati. Had they just typed “Hamsa Hand” into the trusty Google machine – or taken Irving’s word for it – before jumping to wild conclusions, this could’ve all been avoided. But, I mean, c’mon. It’s the Internet.

Further proof that Irving is not a member of the Illuminati? The fact that he just posted this bit of Insta Inspo. The knights of the New World Order would never stand for that sort of sanctimonious bullshit.
