Johnny Manziel Vows to Return to the Field – As He Leaves the Club

No matter what Donald Trump thought, there’s no denying Johnny Manziel’s NFL career has been a disaster, both on and off the field.

Two years ago, Manziel was supposed to be a savior, drafted 22nd overall by the downtrodden Cleveland Browns in the hopes he would bring some of that “Johnny Football” swagger to a franchise (and a city) that has long thirsted for success. Sure, there were questions about his character, but the Heisman Trophy winner had vowed to clean up his act and was ready to prove he could play.

Now, he’s looking for a job.

Following a pair tumultuous seasons in Cleveland, in which he started just 8 games, had a touchdown-to-interception ratio of 1:1 and was involved in no shortage of damning off-field incidents, the Browns cut Manziel. Now that he’s officially cleared waivers, he’s a free agent and can sign with any team in the league.

Many believe Manziel’s priority should be getting his life in order before returning to the field. After all, he spent 10 weeks in rehab before last season and his domestic violence case involving his ex-girlfriend was recently sent to a grand jury. If it’s up to him, though, he won’t miss any football. When TMZ caught up with him over the weekend in Los Angeles, he was asked if we’ll see him on the field next season and he only needed a few words to respond.

“Of course, my man,” Manziel said.

This took place while Manziel was exiting The Nice Guy nightclub, which won’t put any concerns about his hard-partying nature to rest. But it doesn’t seem like it was his fourth night out in a row like last week, and he gave his mom a heartfelt shoutout in the video – so maybe we’re making progress.
