How Tom Brady’s Passing His Suspension: Starting a Newspaper

The quarterback shows once again that he might be a social medial genius

Despite being without Tom Brady, who is currently facing a four-game suspension for his role in Deflategate, and Rob Gronkowski, who was sidelined with a hamstring injury, the Patriots overcame heavy odds to beat the Cardinals on Sunday and win their first game of the NFL season. And even though he’s not allowed to make contact with Bill Belichick and talk football with his teammates during his suspension – that’s in addition to a number of other strict rules handed down by the NFL – Brady still found a way to show support to his Patriot buddies in the most Tom Brady way possible.

With some help from what we can only assume is the work of Photoshop, Brady posted the week one cover of his own newspaper on Facebook, which was fully equipped with a creative headline (“Pats Anger Birds”) and a perfect illustration (Martellus Bennett and Dont’a Hightower slingshotting Angry Birds into the University of Phoenix Stadium). Unfortunately, as For The Win pointed out, the score at the bottom of Brady’s cover doesn’t quite add up, but there’s probably good reason for it.

This certainly isn’t the first time Brady has shown his creativity on social media. Two years ago, before facing the Colts in the AFC Championship game, Brady photoshopped himself onto a colt with a football in hand. He also found a hilarious way to make it clear that Gillette Stadium is a no-fly zone before the Jets came into town last season, and there’s plenty more where all that came from.
