It’s the grudge match MMA fans want to see, and Cyborg is ready to take Rowdy down – either in court, or the Octagon

If a fight between Ronda Rousey and Cris Cyborg was half as good as their trash talk, we’d be in for a treat.

After beating Hiroko Yamanaka in Rousey-like fashion on December 17, 2011, news broke that had Cyborg tested positive for an anabolic steroid, and was subsequently stripped of her title belt. She was also suspended from fighting for a year, but has since joined Invicta FC where she’s continued to make her presence known – reeling off four straight victories, the last two of which came in less than a minute each.

Now signed with UFC, Cyborg has been eyeing a date with Rousey in the Octagon. But to make it happen, she has to cut her weight down to 135 pounds, which seems unlikely to happen since she’s never competed as a bantamweight. Hell, even UFC president Dana White, who is itching to get them face-to-face, has his doubts.

Either way, while Cyborg is supposedly doing all she can to prepare for the fight, Rousey ruffled some feathers over the weekend by throwing shade after whooping Bethe Correia.

“I’m prepared to deal with anything. That’s why I’m the champ,” Rousey said. “I fight in the UFC 135-pound division. She can fight at 145 pumped full of steroids and she can make weight just like everybody else without them.”

Rousey and Cyborg exchanging barbs is nothing new, but it looks like Cyborg has reached a boiling point of sorts (can robots boil?) Once she caught wave of Rousey’s fighting – and possibly litigious –words, she took to Twitter to threaten her with a lawsuit for insinuating she’s still on the juice.

Whether or not Cyborg has the grounds for a lawsuit remains to be seen. But if it all this slanderous smack talk doesn’t motivate her to drop weight before 2017, there is no hope. Oh, and don’t think Cyborg isn’t ready – she even challenged Rousey to stop making excuses and step inside the Octagon.
