Check Out Cam Newton’s Gold-Plated Oldsmobile

Cam Newton is ready to shine again. Literally.
In the months since the mean ol’ Denver Broncos defense ended the Carolina Panthers’ season on a sour note in Super Bowl 50, Cam has tried his best to avoid the spotlight – probably a good idea, considering the way his postgame press conference went. Other than being mocked by the likes of Goose Gossage and Mark Schlereth, the biggest news coming out of his corner has been the television show he scored on Nickelodeon and the story about him hooking Oprah Winfrey’s partner up with some size 14 shoes.
But now, Newton is finally rewarding himself for his MVP season by giving his classic 1970 Oldsmobile 442 Cutlass a $45,000 makeover, according to TMZ. While the car was already pretty fly, Newton has turned his prized possession into something you’d expect to see in a Grand Theft Auto game – in a good way, of course.
“We redid the entire car,” said Monster Customs owner Terry Dobbs. “Fixed the motor. Alcantara leather on the inside with gold stitching in a diamond pattern, new carpet, bigger wheels, new sound system.”
That’s not all they did, either. Since Newton is often riding with his burly offensive linemen, Monster Customs installed a new air-ride system that levels the car out so they no longer have to worry about scraping the ground. Oh, and they also hooked Newton up with a 24-karat gold plated panther head on the car’s grill (because why the hell not?) alongside his initials, “C1N.”
We wonder what Goose thinks of that? Actually, never mind…we probably don’t want to know.
