You don’t love your celebrity crush nearly as much as Anthony Giansanti does.
Giansanti is a 26-year-old outfielder currently playing for the Chicago Cubs’ Triple-A club in Iowa. The thing is, over the years, he’s developed a crush on everyone’s favorite MMA fighter, Ronda Rousey. So much so that he leaves a ticket for her at will call before every one of his games – just in case she’s ever in Iowa and looking for something to do.
What started as a joke has recently begun picking up steam, but sadly, Rousey has yet to show up for an Iowa Cubs game (her mom did respond to Giansanti on Twitter though). You’d think she’s busy preparing for a big fight or something. But that won’t stop Giansanti from continuing his tradition of wooing her to a minor league baseball game for a hot dog and beer. It’s kinda sweet and weird at the same time.
“She’s an incredible fighter,” Giansanti told The Des Moines Register. “I’m a big UFC fan and she’s also incredibly good looking. I mean, why not?”

Power to you, man.
Meanwhile, in the boxing world, Victor Ortiz is pissed that Floyd Mayweather won’t jump in the ring for a rematch in what will be his last hurrah. In Ortiz’s pungent words: “It’s embarrassing, bro.” So, as a way for him to stick it to Money, he’s jumped on the Rousey-would-rag-doll-Mayweather bandwagon by saying he has no chance in a UFC fight against the champ.
“That’s a different world,” Ortiz said. “A boxer can’t step into an octagon and do boxing things to them. And if it is, it’s probably minimal.”
Sure, he also said Rousey wouldn’t last in a boxing match against Mayweather, but we know how you really feel, Victor. And if you guys want to hash out the details, there’s a minor league club in Iowa that would be happy to have you – as long as you bring a certain guest.
