Yoko Ono Lights ‘Imagine Peace Tower’ In Iceland

Yoko Ono’s Imagine Peace Tower has been lit on Viðey Island in Reykjavik, Iceland. The tower of light is an outdoor work of art in tribute to John Lennon, who died 30 years ago this month.
Special Tribute: John Lennon’s Last Days
The tower, which Ono says “emanates wisdom, healing and joy,” can be viewed on a live feed on the official Imagine Peace Tower site. Ono is encouraging fans and well-wishers to send messages to the tower via Twitter, Facebook, email and regular old postcards.
The tower is not Ono’s only current project promoting peace and harmony: She is also offering printable posters declaring WAR IS OVER in 100 different languages, which harken back to Ono and Lennon’s classic billboard campaign inspired by Lennon’s 1971 single “Happy Xmas (War is Over)”.
Along with the WAR IS OVER posters, Ono has shared a video for Lennon’s 1971 single “Happy Xmas (War is Over)”; watch below.
