‘The Oregon Trail,’ ‘Carmen Sandiego’ Hit Facebook

Educational computer game classics The Oregon Trail and Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego, which introduced an entire generation to PCs, live again: New editions arrived February 2nd and come to Facebook on the 9th.
According to a blog post by developer Blue Fang Games, the Learning Company have brought both childhood classics back to life next in a new social games format. Trailers for the games, which simulate pioneer life and a historically informative hunt for a globetrotting femme fatale, reveal an updated, candy-colored cartoon aesthetic and extensive social play elements.
While both series are now decades old, they still count fans among the millions who began their adventures in personal computing playing the games. The Oregon Trail alone has sold over 65 million copies, and inspired numerous sequels, remakes and spinoffs, including a recent iPhone edition.
