Still Playing: Daft Punk’s ‘TRON’ Headphones

Just in case the ‘TRON’ movie, soundtrack, video games and iPhone app weren’t enough

Just in case the new TRON movie, soundtrack, video games and iPhone app weren’t enough, high-end audio manufacturer Monster (Beats by Dre) and Disney are also offering custom Daft Punk TRON edition headphones. Mirroring the French electro duo’s chrome-plated vibe and sci-fi virtual reality franchise’s futuristic feel, the $349.95 SRP cans feature animated LED lighting, glossy aesthetics and black, white and blue coloring keyed to the film’s decor. Features include noise isolation capability, rumbling bass and outsized drivers that encompass the ear to block out unwanted distractions from the real, infinitely less neon-lit world. An attachable microphone is offered for voice chat, hands-free calling or game playing, with movie-inspired in-ear headphones, audio docks and power chargers also available. Daft Punk composed the soundtrack to feature film TRON: Legacy, a sequel to the 1982 Hollywood original.
