Online streaming music service Pandora is laughing it up, having recently expanded beyond Internet radio stations into the realm of humor.
New personalized comedy stations featuring political farce, blue-collar laughs and PG-rated gags are immediately available, as is classic hilarity from the Sixties, Seventies, Eighties and Nineties on up to the present. More than 10,000 rib-tickling clips from more than 700 individual favorite comedians can be accessed, with Pandora’s proprietary Genome Project software capable of analyzing and suggesting new acts you might prefer. As with current music channels, you can give a thumbs up or down to suggestions, helping the system make better decisions going forward as to the jokes and performers it automatically recommends.
No laughing matter, these new offerings promise to introduce emerging and established stand-ups to millions of listeners, and provide just as many poor office drones with much-needed comic relief during a stressful workday.
