Live Nation Buys Setlist.fm

Concert promoter will integrate setlist database in apps

Live Nation

Live Nation has acquired Setlist.fm, a wiki-like service that allows users to add and edit concert set lists. The concert promotion juggernaut plans to use the site to “create a richer, more interactive fan experience within the Live Nation community,” according to a press release.

Setlist.fm currently boasts a database including over 403,000 set lists from more than 24,000 artists. The database was already being used in Live Nation and Ticketmaster’s iPhone apps prior to the acquisition.

Live Nation has been aggressively expanding its technology holdings. The promoter recently launched an iPhone app designed to help users purchase tickets from Live Nation and Ticketmaster, and the company acquired half of the digital analytics firm Big Champagne in December.
