Justin Timberlake Launches Home Furnishings Line

He’s been quiet on the music front lately, but it turns out that pop star-turned-actor-turned-entrepreneur Justin Timberlake hasn’t fallen off the creative map. He’s simply branching out by turning his current attention to an area underexplored by music royalty: home decor.
Timberlake’s first interior design endeavor, Home Mint, recently launched; it sees the star team up with his longtime decorator Estee Stanley for a curated “home goods and art” project and website of the same name. Having worked together in decorating Timberlake’s many homes before, when BeachMint (the brand behind Home Mint and other affiliates) presented him the opportunity to work on a collection together, the elements quickly fell into place. “It felt like a really natural thing for us to do together. Estee and I are great friends, so it’s a lot of fun,” Timberlake told Elle Decor.
Stanley describes their decor preferences as being based on a “European” vibe. “We’re more into antiques than contemporary pieces,” she noted, listing Axel Vervoordt and Christian Liaigre as influences.
Timberlake agreed, stating that their challenge lies in pairing Old World allure with modern design principles. “I like very clean, almost modern architecture, and the obstacle with something like that is making it extremely warm, because it doesn’t naturally lend itself to that,” he explained. “With everything we do together, we try to get the juxtaposition right. To make pieces and rooms that are multifaceted, that blend different genres of architecture and design.”
Timberlake’s foray into design mercifully evades the overly familiar celebrity clothing line and fragrance route, opting for something more discreet and sophisticated. Also, it seems, his range is affordable: “You don’t have to spend your whole bank account to make your home look amazing but also be comfortable and reliable,” he says.
Individual prices for the debut collection remain under wraps for now, but Home Mint membership starts at $10 per month, earning you early access to the best pieces.
