Judas Priest are considering legal action against the Gap over a t-shirt with a logo that bears a striking resemblance to the cover of the metal torchbearers’ 1982 record Screaming For Vengeance, Digital Music News reports.

While there are some differences between the images – the colors and the slant at which the metal bird is depicted – the similarities are also rather striking: there aren’t that many images of robotic raptors screeching in front of a red circle.

“Well, it’s very naughty of them,” Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford told The Quietus. “They shouldn’t have done that and we’re investigating that right now because that’s intellectual property rights – we were never asked, neither was our label.”

Whether or not they were actually breakin’ the law, Gap has already removed the shirt from its online store, in a move reminiscent of Disney’s after they unveiled a t-shirt that turned the cover of Joy Division’s Unknown Pleasures into a portrait of Mickey Mouse.
