Burke Ramsey, the older brother of JonBenét Ramsey, is suing CBS, the producers of The Case of: JonBenét Ramsey and the experts that appeared in the docu-series for $750 million. According to Reuters, the defamation lawsuit stems from the series’ theory that Ramsey may have killed his younger sister.

The Case of: JonBenét Ramsey was one of two recent TV documentary specials that aired prior to the 20th anniversary of Ramsey’s mysterious murder in December of 1996. The six-year-old was found bludgeoned and strangled in the family’s Boulder, CO basement the day after Christmas. In 2008, Burke and his parents were exonerated by DNA evidence. No one has been charged with the murder and the case remains unsolved.

According to Reuters, the lawsuit claims Ramsey has been “exposed to public hatred, contempt and ridicule” following the two-part, four-hour series that aired in September.

During The Case of: JonBenét Ramsey, a team of investigators reexamined key pieces of evidence surrounding the case and concluded by posing a theory that the then nine-year-old Burke may have struck his sister, accidentally killing her. They then theorize that the parents faked a crime scene to cover it up.

A spokesman for CBS declined to comment on the lawsuit to Reuters.

“Defendants’ accusation that Burke Ramsey killed his sister was based on a compilation of lies, half-truths, manufactured information, and the intentional omission and avoidance of truthful information about the murder of JonBenét Ramsey,” the lawsuit states.

In a separate suit filed in October, Ramsey is suing Dr. Werner Spitz for $150 million following the forensic pathologist suggesting in an interview promoting the CBS docu-series that Ramsey may have killed his sister. Spitz is also named in Ramsey’s new lawsuit, according to Associated Press.
