Flappy Bird will fly — and inevitably crash into a green pipe — once more: Creator Dong Nguyen told CNBC that a new, “less addictive” multiplayer version of his hit game would be available in August, The Verge reports.

Nguyen famously yanked Flappy Bird from app stores following its sudden rise in popularity, leading to a slew of imitators and homage (including one from Fall Out Boy). Back in March, Nguyen returned to Twitter for a Q&A with fans where not only thanked Justin Bieber for following him, but revealed he was working on a reboot that he said “will not be the original game but a better one.”

It’s not surprising that Nguyen aimed to make a “less addictive” version of Flappy Bird: As Rolling Stone learned in an exclusive interview, Nguyen deleted the original game not just because of all the attention it was bringing him, but because of the myriad messages from parents complaining that Flappy Bird was distracting their kids (and sometimes causing them to break their phones) and workers who said they’d lost their jobs because of it.

At the time, Nguyen said he was considering making Flappy Bird available again, though with a caveat: “Please take a break.” Nguyen added that he felt “relief” that the game was gone, continuing, “I can’t go back to my life before, but I’m good now.”
