Fend Off Gene Simmons’ Groupies in New Mobile Game

Sure, being married to a rock star can have its perks: unlimited backstage passes, reality show offers, all the gothic furniture you can fit in your mansion. But for Shannon Tweed, wife of KISS bassist Gene Simmons, it hasn’t all been fun and games…until now.
Tweed has followed up her appearance in the A&E reality show Gene Simmons’ Family Jewels by releasing a mobile game exclusively for the iPhone and iPad. The appropriately titled Attack of the Groupies lets players step in Tweed’s high heels as she fends off hordes of admiring fans, Space Invaders-style.
Inspired by Tweed’s “real-life obstacles in dating the legendary KISS frontman,” the game’s main objective is to stop female fan caricatures dead in their tracks before they get too close to her rock star hubby. Enemies include the alleged baby mama, the overeager bridezilla, the teen cheerleader and the drunken hot mess. Luckily, Tweed has equally outlandish weaponry at her disposal: the Shock Mirror frightens groupies with their own reflections and the Frizzinator makes them more fit to be Frankenstein’s bride.
Attack of the Groupies features voiceovers from Tweed as well as her daughter, Sophie Tweed-Simmons. As players progress, they earn a chance to unlock never-before-seen photos from the rock icon’s personal family album.
The game was released on March 27 by Gogii Games and is now available on the iTunes stores. The iPhone version is $1 while the iPad version goes for $2. An Android version is currently in the works.
