Fashion’s Night Out Canceled for 2013

Fashion’s Night Out events have been canceled in the United States this year in response to designers’ concerns about budget constraints, according to Women’s Wear Daily.
Fashion’s Night Out Highlights 2012
Instead of spending money encouraging consumers to shop with one-night-only events featuring bands and the like, the event’s sponsors – Vogue, the Council of Fashion Designers of America and NYC & Co. – are redirecting funds to other priorities. Though Fashion’s Night Out is on hold in the U.S., it will still go forward in some cities in other countries.
Fashion’s Night Out first launched in 2009 in conjunction with fall Fashion Week as New York’s economy was suffering, but by last year, the idea had expanded to more than 500 cities across the country and 30 cities around the world. Last year’s version featured Azaelia Banks, Lana Del Rey, St. Vincent, Yoko Ono and the Strokes’ Albert Hammond Jr., among others.
