Dismemberment Plan to Perform on ‘Late Night With Jimmy Fallon’

Late Night With Jimmy Fallon has booked post-punk titans The Dismemberment Plan to perform on the show on January 20 — their first performance as a reunited band, and the day before the group’s tour begins in their hometown of Washington, D.C.
Together from 1993 until 2003, The Dismemberment Plan announced the tour in September and seemed to leave the door open for more dates, but just one has been added and they say there’ll be no further concerts in the U.S.
The 10 shows run through February 20, except for a just-added show in Seattle on March 12. The group briefly reunited in 2007 for a pair of shows that were benefits for Cal Robbins, son of Jawbox’s J., who produced two Dismemberment Plan albums.
While very much in the legacy of D.C. post-punk bands like Jawbox and Fugazi, The Dismemberment Plan were known for also incorporating hip-hop and R&B elements into their songs.
