Bruce Jenner has officially introduced the world to Caitlyn Jenner. The former Olympic runner and reality show personality has revealed her new name on Vanity Fair‘s July cover following an emotional interview with Diane Sawyer last month where she came out as transgender.

Annie Leibovitz photographed Jenner at the cover star’s Malibu home for her debut as a woman. Jenner spoke with the magazine’s contributing editor Buzz Bissinger about her transition and new life as Caitlyn. “If I was lying on my death bed and I had kept this secret and never did anything about it, I would be lying there saying, ‘You just blew your entire life,'” she revealed to Bissinger in the story.

Vanity Fair posted a preview of Bissinger’s story, for which the writer spent “hundreds of hours” with Caitlyn. Jenner reveals her progress in transitioning, having undergone a 10-hour facial-feminization surgery in March. Bissinger also spoke with Jenner’s four children from her first two marriages who detailed Jenner’s absenteeism from their youth. “I have high hopes that Caitlyn is a better person than Bruce,” eldest son Burt Jenner stated. “I’m very much looking forward to that.”

In an additional behind-the-scenes clip of Jenner’s cover shoot, she speaks candidly about her successes as Bruce and future as Caitlyn. “Caitlyn doesn’t have any secrets,” she narrates over the clip. “As soon as the Vanity Fair cover comes out, I’m free.”

Jenner’s April sit-down with Sawyer was the last time she publicly spoke as Bruce. At the time, she had been in the process of transitioning from male to female for 18 months and was still going by her birth name and male pronouns. “This is me,” Jenner explained. “This is who I am. I look at it this way: Bruce has lived a lie his whole life about who he is. And I can’t do that anymore.”

Jenner also joined Twitter on Monday, posting the cover image and writing, “I’m so happy after such a long struggle to be living my true self. Welcome to the world Caitlyn. Can’t wait for you to get to know her/me.”

Caitlyn Jenner’s Vanity Fair cover will hit stands on June 9th. Jenner will appear at this year’s ESPYs on July 15th to receive the Arthur Ashe Courage Award.
