Country music sensation Lauren Alaina keeps herself busy. This year’s ACM New Female Vocalist of the Year juggles life on the road, performing in multiple cities each week, and she still finds the time to make a positive difference in the community.
With a little help from her biggest fans and State Farm®, Alaina turned a tour stop into an opportunity to volunteer. A quick brainstorm with super fans Maddie Myers, Katelyn Schempp and Kelsey Bryant identified the Kansas Food Bank as the perfect place to turn caring into doing. Three fans became nine after the trio rallied their network of Alaina followers to meet in Wichita to pack meals for the Kansas Food Bank’s Food 4 Kids initiative, a school-based program benefitting children who are food insecure and chronically hungry. As an encore, Alaina and State Farm invited these fans to a concert that evening.
“I’m on this journey with my fans and we’re walking side by side,” said Alaina. “I’m so inspired by that, to be a positive light.”
Through the State Farm Neighborhood of Good®, she is now able to spark a movement, using her platform to empower more fans to build confidence through local volunteer opportunities.
“I can’t wait to see what we have started,” said Alaina. “I think it’s limitless.”
