Blake Shelton deals with heartbreak on an industrial scale in the video for his new single, "Every Time I Hear That Song."
Set in a dreary factory alongside a steel-hearted love interest, the country superstar and Voice judge grapples with a recurring flashback to the night he lost her for good, comparing his heart to a machine that, once started, can't just be turned off. Testing out his falsetto and backed by light touches of modern country production, Shelton brings the helplessness of the romantic mid-tempo ballad to life. He's chasing a memory but finding himself trapped in a metaphorical cage, his former flame just out of reach.
Co-written by Aimee Mayo, Chris Lindsey and the Warren Brothers, "Every Time I Hear That Song" is the fifth single from Shelton's If I'm Honest album, which also featured the singer's first gospel song "Savior's Shadow," the Top 10 hit "She's Got a Way With Words," and two Number Ones, "Came Here to Forget" and "A Guy With a Girl."
Shelton's Doing It to Country Songs Tour kicks off February 16th with opening acts RaeLynn and Voice champion Sundance Head.
