Miranda Lambert has signed on as the executive music producer for the upcoming movie Something in the Water. The "Tin Man" singer-songwriter will choose the film's music and also contribute an original track.
The movie is a comedy about five women who challenge their men to a bass fishing competition, with YouTube star Grace Helbig (who was also in Trolls and Dirty 30) in the leading role.
The film also has another country-music connection: it marks the feature film directorial debut of Trey Fanjoy, the music-video director behind many of Lambert's videos, including "Vice," "The House That Built Me" and the cinematic "Somethin' Bad" with Carrie Underwood. Filming for Something in the Water will begin in Nashville later this year.
Lambert once appeared in a 2012 episode of Law & Order: SVU, playing a victim of assault. Her involvement in Something in the Water stands as her first credit as a film music producer.
