Little Big Town have offered another glimpse into their forthcoming album The Breaker, sharing "Happy People" across streaming outlets. The release comes on the heels of the Taylor Swift-penned "Better Man," a heartfelt ballad that is currently Number One on Billboard's Hot Country Songs.
"Happy People," written by Lori McKenna and Hailey Whitters, leads off The Breaker with its mellow strums of acoustic guitar and subdued drums. In contrast to Swift's biting "Better Man," the laidback, folk-tinged musical accompaniment sets the stage for more hopeful, positive lyrics. "Here's to whatever puts a smile on your face / Whatever makes you happy, people," they sing, concluding, "Well life is short / And love is rare / And we all deserve to be happy while we're here."
Arriving February 24th, The Breaker coincides with the group's yearlong residency at Nashville's famed Ryman Auditorium, the first of its kind for the venue. Little Big Town will also perform on the Grammy Awards, Sunday, February 12th.
