Dave Alvin

July 11, 2011

Roots rock legend Dave Alvin stopped by the Rolling Stone studio recently to play solo acoustic versions of two songs from his latest album Eleven Eleven as well as the standard "Blackjack David," a number he refers to as "the 'Louie Louie' of folk songs." The former Blasters guitarist also sat down to chat about how he wrote his latest batch of tunes while out on the road, which he has never done before in his 30 years of touring.
