Some people dream of Grammys, of touring the world, of playing music for millions on the Tonight Show – but when you're Questlove and those wishes are reality, it's time to start crossing off the more peculiar items on your bucket list.
Wednesday night, the Roots drummer fulfilled one such fantasy when he appeared as a corpse on Law & Order: SVU. Now you can check out the quick clip of Questlove lying stone cold dead on a coroner's table, with a nice-looking bullet wound placed right below his pristine afro.
Quest kills it, not even moving an inch, as Detectives Fin Tutuola (Ice T) and Amanda Robbins (Kelli Giddish) discuss a separate case with Dr. Melinda Warner (Tamara Tunie). When Robbins gets up close to examine the bullet wound, while simultaneously double checking Dr. Warner's analysis of another body, the coroner gives a stern, firm tug on a medical blanket to cover up the dead drummer.
Ice T broke the news that Questlove would appear on SVU back in February when he tweeted a photo of the drummer on the coroner's table with the message, "This corpse looks strangely familiar…" Questlove followed that up with his own Instagram post of him playing dead alongside SVU star, Mariska Hargitay.
Questlove divulged his peculiar TV dream in a "25 Things You Didn't Know About Me" article for Us Weekly, writing, "It's my fantasy to play a dead body on Law & Order." Now that he's taken care of that, Questlove can get back to his day job as bandleader on the recently relaunched Tonight Show. He and the Roots have been busy so far, playing with U2, helping Fallon and Justin Timberlake continue their "History of Rap" series, and recreating "Let It Go" – the Oscar-winning song from Frozen – with singer Idina Menzel using classroom instruments.
