Jean-Claude Van Damme is known for kicking serious ass on-screen, but one of his finest cinematic moments happened on the dance floor. At the prompting of Conan O'Brien during Tuesday night's episode of Conan, the actor recreated his infamous, dorky moves from the 1989 martial arts classic Kickboxer.
O'Brien sets up the dance in the above clip, telling his guest that it's one of his favorite movie scenes. He then rolls the footage, which features Van Damme decked out in a black tank-top and khakis, grooving to Beau Williams' "Feeling So Good Today" in a bar – and then beating up some menacing bad guys. "We're going to do a Kickboxer 2," he says after, referencing the upcoming reboot. (There have already been four proper sequels, none of which featured Van Damme.) The host responds that he'll "be the first in line" for the flick.
Van Damme, promising he's "still got the moves," walks out to center stage and slips back into the role of Kurt Sloane. After being approached by two nefarious gentlemen, the actor busts out some sweet martial arts moves – then resumes his dancing, joined by the ever-lanky O'Brien.
The next Kickboxer title is a reboot of the original film, with Van Damme starring as sensei Master Chow, who trained his original character, Sloane, the art of kickboxing in order to take down his brother's killer. The film also stars stuntman-occasional actor Alain Moussi, Guardians of the Galaxy's Dave Bautista and UFC welterweight champion George St. Pierre.
