Britney Spears kept it coy on The Ellen Show today, denying rumors and Ryan Gosling's claim that the two kissed while they were members of The Mickey Mouse Club in the mid-90s. Despite DeGeneres' prodding, Spears said that the only person on the show she ever smooched was ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake, though she admited to playing spin the bottle with her fellow Mouseketeers.
Spears also chatted at length about her upcoming residency in Las Vegas, describing the show as "probably the hardest show that I've ever done. I'm rehearsing really, really hard for it, I'm dancing the most I've ever danced. It's going to be a lot of fun." Viewers can also see a quick glance at the wild, neon stage constructed for "Britney: Piece of Me," the 90-minute extraveganza that opens on December 27th at the Planet Hollywood Casino. Spears will perform 48 shows each of the next two years, playing approximately four shows a week (tickets are currently available for the initial run through February 22nd).
Today, Spears released her eighth studio album, Britney Jean, a more personal effort that found her opening up after her complicated breakup with Jason Tarwick, a talent agent who was also Spears' co-conservator (along with her father, Jamie, the duo handled the pop star's personal affairs following her tumultuous 2007 breakdown). In the studio, the singer worked closely with executive producer will.i.am, who found inspiration in long, intimate talks with Spears about her trials and tribulations. The album also features contributions from Sia, David Guetta, Diplo and William Orbit.
Along with the release of Britney Jean, a new TV documentary I Am Britney Jean will premiere December 22nd at 8 p.m. EST on E! The 90-minute special follows Spears as she juggles everything from finishing her album to prepping for her Vegas residency to being a mother of two children.
