Watch Samantha Bee on Incompetent Russian Hacking Investigations

'Full Frontal' host reveals how she scooped intelligence professionals on Moscow trolls

Samantha Bee dissected the convoluted, partisan and slow investigations into Russia's attempts to influence the 2016 election.

Samantha Bee dissected the incompetent and infuriating investigations into Russia's campaign to disparage Hillary Clinton and influence the 2016 election on Full Frontal

Bee began with a recap of how House Intelligence Committee Chair Devin Nunes has thrown that chamber's investigation into a partisan disarray, while the Senate's investigation has been more decorous, but heavy on bluster and light on new information. "Let me see if I can explain Russia's complex, high-tech cyber techniques in layman's terms," Bee cracked. "They put crazy shit on Facebook, polluting our brains until we all felt like Winona Ryder at the SAG Awards."

The Full Frontal host went on to note how then-candidate Donald Trump helped proliferate these conspiracy theories through his own Twitter account, and how they also undermined Clinton during her primary run against Bernie Sanders. And while some investigators and professionals seem stunned that we didn't realize how Russian hackers were undermining our election as it was happening, Bee points to a segment Full Frontal ran in late October in which she traveled to Moscow and talked to two conspiracy-spreading trolls. That same week, however, FBI Director James Comey sent his letter about the possibility that there might be more pertinent Clinton emails.

After a healthy scream into a pillow, Bee cracked, "paid trolls are real and when they're done interfering in the French and German elections they'll have time to tell us how many children Susan Rice murdered with Corey Booker so POTUS can retweet it. That's why all of us need start being a little less Mulder, and a little more Scully."
