Throughout Donald Trump's campaign, the mogul has shown an unflappable ability to spout anything, retweet racists and provoke violence, yet not lose a single supporter in the process. In an effort to understand the mind of a Trump supporter – and not the virulent ones that scream "Go back to Auschwitz" at protestors – Full Frontal's Samantha Bee sat down with a pack of young, college-educated Trump fans to hear why they've so staunchly backed the candidate. The results, obviously, were terrifying to Bee.
"A few weeks ago, I sat down with some Trump fans and forced myself to listen to them," Bee says. What she discovered was a group of intelligent young people that momentarily push aside all reason in order to maintain their unwavering support of Trump. On issues like banning all Muslims and Trump's magnetism to racists, these supporters are more eager to blame the media for skewing things than accept what Trump is actually saying.
At a party Full Frontal throws for the Trump supporters, the host is accompanied by a fact-checker who does little to penetrate the force field of inconsistencies and lies that surround and protect Trump and his supporters. A defeated Bee asks, "How do you fact-check bluster?"Watch late-night hosts call out Donald Trump's supporters.
