Watch Ricky Gervais' Cheeky 'Special Correspondents' Trailer

Comedian, Eric Bana play journalists whose fake report from Ecuador goes terribly wrong in upcoming Netflix movie

Ricky Gervais and Eric Bana play two journalists whose fake report from Ecuador quickly goes south in the new Netflix movie 'Special Correspondents.'

Ricky Gervais and Eric Bana fumble their way from a fake international crisis into a real one in the new trailer for the Netflix movie, Special Correspondents.

Gervais and Bana play Ian Finch and Frank Bonneville, two floundering radio journalists, who pretend to be on the ground in Ecuador while actually reporting from an apartment above a restaurant in Queens, New York. With the help of a young couple played by America Ferrera and Raul Castillo, Finch and Bonneville end up faking a missile strike and are forced to pretend they've been captured by a group of rebels.

As their lie unravels, the U.S. government gets involved. Finch's wife (Vera Farmiga) uses the tragedy to launch her singing career and Finch and Bonneville are forced to sneak into Ecuador so that they can actually be "found."

Special Correspondents was written and directed by Gervais and also stars Benjamin Bratt, Kevin Pollak and Kelly MacDonald. The film arrives on Netflix April 29th.
