The world knows Michael Phelps can swim, but can he lip sync? His skills were tested Sunday night when the Olympics record holder and other members of the U.S. team appeared on a live episode of Lip Sync Battle. Onstage, Phelps channeled his inner Slim Shady for an ad-hoc performance of Eminem's "Lose Yourself."
Phelps had his gold-medal winning game face on. He swayed to the opening of "Lose Yourself," parodying the beginning 8 Mile, which starred Eminem. The swimmer bungled the opening mirror scene and hid his mouth with the microphone for the entire performance, suggesting that lip-syncing isn't his strong suit.
What Phelps lacked in lyrical knowledge, he made up for in onstage charisma. His choreographed dance moves and brazen mic drop helped him reach victory in the All-Star Live Championship. Phelps' performed against U.S. Olympic gymnasts Simone Biles and Aly Raisman, who teamed up with actress Olivia Munn for a rousing rendition of Sia's "Cheap Thrills."
