Nobody enjoys accosting people on the streets of New York City more than Billy on the Street host Billy Eichner — except, of course, for the costumed characters in Times Square who hit up tourists for money in exchange for a quick photo op. Sick of watching Elmo, Spider-Man, et al. trawl around the Manhattan landmark, Eichner decided to see how many tips he might be able to earn by trotting out one his favorite characters: Academy Award-winning actress Julianne Moore.
Vividly recreating some of her most famous movie moments for the befuddled strangers, Moore performs a devastating monologue from The Kids Are All Right, her immortal breakdown from Magnolia, and even straight up cries on cue for a tourist who doesn't speak enough English to understand what's happening. ("Comfort her!," Eichner yells.) "Hey Elmo," the host barks at a dejected Sesame Street cos-player as they walk in the other direction, "Take a hard look at a natural redhead!"
Billy on the Streets airs Thursday nights at 10:30pm on TruTV.
