The Simpsons' annual "Treehouse of Horror" episode has become a Halloween TV staple across 26 seasons, so it's shocking the series hasn't already pulled off "Homerzilla," the Godzilla-Homer hybrid wreaking havoc in the above preview. "We can't stop him!" screams a distressed scientist, watching the Springfield destruction unfold from the safety of Tokyo. "We can't. All we can do is avoid him easily! He's 2,000 miles away, moving at two miles a day. What do I do? What do I do?"
The dopey-looking mutant Homer stomps around a scene of burning houses, pausing briefly to urinate. The preview is only 16 seconds long, but in classic Simpsons style, it's crammed with sight gags and background visual jokes – like the scrolling TV Breaking News that reads, HOMERZILLA STOMPS THE CITY! RAMEN PRICES SKYROCKET! GEISHAS GIGGLE COYLY"
"Treehouse of Horror: XXVI" airs Sunday, October 25th, at 8 p.m. EST. The episode will include a villainous segment where deranged criminal Sideshow Bob murders Bart in numerous ways. "You never saw the Road Runner lose. This time you do," Simpsons executive producer Al Jean recently told Entertainment Weekly. "[Sideshow Bob's] whole life has just been about killing Bart, so what’s next? We deal with how Bob would really feel once he accomplished this goal he’s had his whole life."
